Nairobi, Kenya: On Saturday, September 5, 2026, Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) congregations worldwide officially launched a global mission initiative commemorating the 2,000th anniversary of the baptism of Jesus Christ in 27 AD. This global solidarity movement invites people around the world to participate in an evangelical effort to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with every individual.
The worldwide alliance seeks to reach every person by leveraging both modern technology and traditional outreach methods. Digital strategies utilize platforms like Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, WeChat, Telegram, Facebook Messenger, Snapchat, and Reddit.
Alongside these digital channels, conventional outreach relies on television, radio, newspapers, magazines, public meetings, and community gatherings to ensure no one is left behind.
The main drive of this agenda is to unite church members globally in synchronized media outreach, digital evangelism, and personal community engagement, building up to major harvest meetings in September 2027.

The agenda of this mission is similar globally and is meant to be realized by everybody throughout the world. Church members are urged to reach out to all people using different channels, including modern technology. The global slogan for this mission is dubbed: “OneVoice27-Mission for All.”
Accomplishing Heavenly Will
According to Pastor Dickson Kateeti, who this task falls under his docket within the South Nairobi-Kajiado Conference (SNKC) administration, urges every member of the SDA Church to be actively involved.
Currently Pr. Kateeti serves multiple critical leadership positions; as the head of the Ministerial Association as well as the Director for Family Ministries and Health Ministries for the SNKC.
Pr. Kateeti explained that the Adventist Church believes that Jesus Christ began His ministry after He was baptized, and that the Great Commission was the mandate He left to humanity.
“Jesus left His followers the Great Commission, which is the command to make disciples of all nations,” he reminded congregation. Reference scripture is the book of Matthew 28:18-20,” Kateeti added.
In simple terms, we are called upon to do the following:
Go: Travel and reach out to all people and cultures globally.
Make Disciples: Turn people into followers and learners of Jesus.
Baptize: Baptize new believers in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
Teach: Instruct believers to obey everything Jesus commanded.
To accomplish the mission task, Pr Kateeti urged every member of the SDA Church, at their personal capacity level, to reach out to at least one individual daily with a biblical message.
This could be family members, colleagues, relatives, friends, neighbours, or even strangers met while commuting or travelling. By doing so, the message will reach thousands of people out there within a short period.
“This is a global mission programme outlined to run up to September 2027, marking exactly two thousand years since Jesus Christ was baptized. It is a one-year celebration and expected to touch many souls throughout the world,” Pr Kateeti explained.
Adding “Therefore, at every church level, there will be various activities led by various ministerial departments: Adventist Men Ministries, Women Ministries, Young Adults & Youth, Pathfinder Clubs, Family-Life, Chaplaincy, among others,” he pointed out.

He disclosed that there are approximately 180,000 SDA churches globally, with 50 million members. Yet 3.4 billion people are neither aware of Jesus Christ nor know anything about God the Almighty.
“There is need to reach out to such people as commanded by Jesus Christ to the disciples in Matthew 28:19,” he emphasised.
Pr. Kateeti therefore encouraged church members who do not belong to any church ministerial departments to use their God-given talents to reach out to their workmates.
He said the most active way to reach thousands within a short time is through modern technology gadgets such as mobile phones, laptops or computers, among others. These media platforms have digital applications and websites that allow people to create, share and view content.
Other media channels include newspapers, radio, television, digital publications, branded T-shirts, banners, posters and other attire.
Perishing From Knowledge Deficiency
For example, Kibera Central Church in the South Nairobi-Kajiado Conference, Kenya, immediately after the launch, kicked off the mission with a twin programme: Family-Life Week of Prayer alongside Health Talk Exhibition.

The two programmes ran concurrently and were facilitated by a veteran couple who tackled Family and Health & Nutrition subject matters. Mrs Naftali Omesa and Mrs Alice Omesa are a blessed couple who addressed the two assignments with passion and vigour.
The duo presented each topic together for one hour, always leaving the congregation yearning for more whenever the sessions ended. Their presentations focused on solutions to family challenges and the prevention of many common ailments.
For instance, most of the presentations were demonstrations filled with typical life situations facing the current generation.
“Look at dress code choices, overdone makeups, unhealthy eating patterns and sedentary lifestyle which all leads to lust and accelerates chronic diseases,” Mrs Omesa cautioned.
“The Bible cautions us in: “Romans 12:2; ‘Do not conform to the patterns of this world but be transformed by every renewing Word of God,’ Therefore, either; Obey and Live or Disobey and Perish; The Choice is Yours,” Mr Omesa emphasized.
The couple are also Marriage and Family Counsellors, apart from being outstanding natural medicinal missionaries recognized for their evidence-based traditional natural remedies.
During their one-week stay, the natural medicinal experts managed to touch many souls, which is part of the programme: OneVoice27 — reaching out to everyone with the Gospel through natural remedies.
Elsewhere, some churches popularized the global mission programme by marching in the streets and estates to create awareness. Others visited inmates in prisons, patients in hospitals, children’s homes, street urchins and less fortunate families.
Days are already reducing to the September 2027 countdown. The big question is: Are You Involved?
