As the world is currently grappling with the global pandemic in the name of COVID19 aka Coronavirus.

The current stats show European countries have been worst hit followed by China where the virus is alleged to have originated in Wuhan, Hubei Province.

Currently, Italy has posted over 5,476 deaths with 59,138 positive cases while in China 81,600 cases have been reported with 3,276 deaths.

In Africa, Governments are taking precautionary measures to stop the spread of the Virus with the shutting of airspaces and closure of borders.

Let’s take a look at the stats in Africa and what we are dealing with since the first cases were reported early this month.

According to the African Center for Disease, Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) data show that 43 countries in Africa have reported COVID19 Positive cases with a total of 1,436 cases.

10 Countries have reported 46 deaths from the Coronavirus with the highest deaths reported in Algeria.

11 Countries have also reported 124 recoveries of the Coronavirus with the highest reports in Egypt with 56 cases.

In Africa, Egypt is leading with COVID19 cases at 327 followed by South Africa with 274 cases and 201 cases in Algeria while Morocco has 115 cases.
