Nairobi, Kenya: Over 106 (member of County Assembly) MCAs in an assembly of 126  at Nairobi city are now supporting impending second impeachment motion that once tabled adopted will automatically render current embattled speaker Beatrice Elachi jobless at the helm of assembly.
Speaking to press conference on Sunday the over 85 MCAs drawn from both divides accused the speaker of unilateral decisions, preventing them from attending assembly business under the guise of containment of COVID-19, incessant fighting including the executive, abuse of office among others.
Hamsa Maringo Mca mark Ndugu warned the speaker to either chip in or move terming her dictator. She is using police, GSU, and all sorts of mannerless tactics to frustrate elected MCAs. “If some of this police-military want to be MCAs let them resign got elected.” Said mark Ndugu.

He went on the only clerk we know as MCAs is non-other Jacob Ngwele. ” I am a member of the board. No recruitment was done. The guy she purported to swore here on Friday was a farce added mark.”
On his part Utali ward, MCA Wilson Ochola has a red alert. “We have been patient for enough, this house belongs to MCAs, not police and GSU. We cannot be intimidated by an unelected person. we want her out her time is up.” Said Ochola.
Ochola also asked her to come clear and tell Nairobians who are using her instead of hiding behind handshake and Raila to propel Cartels’ interest with the Nairobi Metropolitan Service.
With 106 MCAs supporting changes at the assembly, only less than 26 seem to agree with Elachi leadership a thing that may make it hard for the speaker to survive should the motion reach the assembly.
But on Monday a section of MCAs numbering 23 spoke at KICC the headquarters of NMS and talked off and to impeach Governor Sonko.MCAs allied to Sonko termed the exercise in futility as a diversionary tactic but vowed to impeach Elachi.
The standing orders require at least 45 MCAs to bring the motion of impeachment at the assembly, something the MCAs who want impeach Governor Sonko has a hard task to fulfill with reports others among the 26 have developed cold feet and reaching to Governor Mike Sonko.
Yesterday Sunday saw over 85 MCAs append their signatures in a bid to bring an impeachment motion against the speaker..reading the statement on behalf of the MCAs South B Mca Chege waithera said the legislators will not be in a position to discharge its mandate with Elachi as a speaker.
They are also accusing her of causing impunity, causing divisions between the NMS and the County, victimization of MCAs and staff, the militarisation of the assembly, and running the assembly like personal property.
” We have decided that enough is enough and we cannot continue operating under the mercies of someone who was never elected,” Mca Waithera said.
With the new development, it now sets a looming political showdown expected in the city hall in the coming weeks.
