The Sportpesa Premier League (KPL) enters round 23 with exciting matches on the cards expected on Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 August  at different venues around the country.

Mathare United will be seeking for an improved performance in the second leg after starting off poorly when they meet theTaxmen,Ushuru in a match that will be aired live from the Nyayo National Stadium from 3pm EAT on Saturday 20 August.

In another match on Saturday 20th,in form Chemelil Sugar will face off SoNy Sugar in the Millers’Derby at Chemelil Grounds from 3pm.The Francis Baraza-coached side has posted positive results since the second leg started alongside the Son y Sugar side who have enjoyed good form after starting the 2016 season a  poor note.

It will be an action packed Sunday with four matches lined up for the day. Western Stima will welcome Muhoroni Youth at the Moi Stadium Kisumu from 3pm while wounded AFC Leopards will be up against relegation threatened City Stars.

League leaders and former champions Tusker will face Kakamega Homeboyz in another exciting encounter at the Kenyatta Stadium,Machakos from 2pm in one of the double header match that will be televised.

In the second encounter at the Machakos Stadium, former Champions Sofapaka will be up against Posta Rangers from4:15 pm. The former has picked two consecutive wins in their previous fixtures after starting the league on a wrong footing.

Thika United will face Bandari on Wednesday 24th August at the Thika Sub County Stadium while Ulinzi Stars will play against Posta Rangers in the round 21 catch-up match on the same day at Afraha Stadium.

At the same time,six players have been suspended from taking part in the round 23 action.Mathara United’s David Mwangi will not feature in their match against Ushuru after accumulating five yellow cards with Sofapaka’s Fredrick Kentile also missing action against Posta Rangers after accumulating five yellow cards.

Gor Mahia’s Karim Nizigiyimana will miss their round 24 fixture against Chemelil Sugar with Muhoroni Youth’s Lwamba Bebeto also out of their match against Western Stima after both players accumulated five yellow cards each.

Bandari’s Mohamed Sharif will be out in their clash against Thika United while Ulinzi Stars’ Mark Makwata will be missing in their round 21 match against Posta Rangers after both players accumulated five yellow cards each.
