Nairobi, Kenya: President Uhuru Kenyatta hosted the Council of Governors led by the Chair, Wycliffe Oparanya at the COVID-19 status conference held at the Kenyatta International Conference Center. Among those in attendance were Nairobi’s Governor Mike Sonko, Kisumu’s Governor Anyang’ Nyong’o, West Pokot  Governor Prof. John Lonyangapuo, Murang’ a Governor Mwangi wa Iria among others.

The Council of Governors supported the call by the President to open up the Country to allow Kenyans eke a living while following the COVID-19 regulations.

Governor Sonko, later on, paid a courtesy call on the Chairman of the Council of Governors, Governor Wycliffe Oparanya at his office.
He was optimistic that the goals and aspirations that Leaders of the Counties promised to its people will be accomplished given the goodwill by all.
Sonko urged leaders both at the County and National Government to work together in harmony to foster rapid economic development and create employment for the people.
