Strathmore University play maker Ken Ndungu was named in the team of the year following their win against Kenya Defense Forces in the finals of Super Cup on Sunday.

As Kenya Handball Federation (KHF)Super Cup folded its curtains on Sunday at Nyayo Stadium, last season top performers were awarded four-time local league champions Nairobi Water dominating the team of the year.

Nairobi Water who are also the two-time East and Central Club Champions defended the Super Cup title for the third consecutive season following their win against their arch rivals National Cereals and Produce Board(NCPB) in the finals.

Commenting on the team’s performance, Nairobi Water coach Jack Ochieng’ said his side has done well and they are ready for the new season that is set to kick off next Month.

“The win is big motivation for us as we start the new season. We were also gauging our new signings in this match,” he said.

The tactician added that the return of key players who were out last season has returned and it will be a major boost for his side.

The players who have returned include Merina Andara,Cecilia Katheu,Jane Waithera and Tracy Awino.

Nairobi Water will be seeking to retain the local title, regional title and improve on the continental club championship ranking after finishing fifth last year, the best ever performance for the club in the continentals.
